The largest faith in Prince Edward Island was Christianity. More than two-thirds of the Prince Edward Island population (67.6%), reported that they were affiliated with a Christian religion. Non-Christian faiths account for 3.9%, and the remaining 28.5% are classified as unaffiliated, which can mean agnostic, atheist, or “nothing in particular.”

With immigration patterns, there were growing proportions of the population who reported religious affiliations other than Christian. These religions included Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, and Buddhists. In 2021, about 3.9% of the Manitoba population reported affiliation with one of these religions.
In 2021, people who identified themselves as Muslim made up 1.1% of the population, Hindu 0.8%, Sikh 0.8%, Buddhist 0.5%, and Jews 0.1%. Other smaller faiths are 0.5% of the population.

Roman Catholics were the largest Christian religious group in 2021. About 51,790 or 34.4% of people identified themselves as Roman Catholic. It’s followed by the various branches of Protestantism Churches. United Church is the second largest and it has 14,635 adherents or 9.7% of the Prince Edward Island population followed by the Presbyterian (4.3%) and Anglican (3.3%).
