People of Danish ancestry form an important minority group in several countries in North and South America. As per the estimates, the total population of the Danish Diaspora is 2 million around the world and they are in good numbers in the United States, Brazil, Canada, Greenland, and Argentina

Danish Americans are Americans who have full or partial Danish ancestry.  In the United States census of 2020, 1.25 million people identified as being fully or partly of Danish ancestry. 

According to the United States Ancestry Census estimates 2020, there were 1,244,498 (0.38% of the US Population) people of Danish descent in the U.S.

Danish Ancestry Statewise

Population wise California (154,261) has the largest number of people with Danish Ancestry followed by Utah  (145,502), Minnesota (69,619), Washington (64,853), and Wisconsin (56,107).

Percentage-wise top US states with Danish Ancestry are Utah  (4.62%), Nebraska (2.01%), Idaho  (1.87%), South Dakota (1.82%), and Iowa (1.60%).

Danish Canadians are Canadians who have full or partial Danish ancestry. Danish Canadians account for about  0.60%  of the total population of Canada

According to the Canadian Census 2016, there were 207,470 people of Danish descent in Canada.

Danish Ancestry Provinces

Alberta, with 60,380 people of Danish ancestry, has the largest population of Danish -Canadians in Canada followed by British Columbia (58,205) and Ontario (53,550). Percentage-wise Yukon (1.58%) has the highest percentage of Danish followed by  Alberta(1.52%) and British Columbia (1.28%).

Danish Brazilians are Brazilians who have full or partial Danish ancestry. In Brazil, They are part of bigger group i.e Scandinavian Brazilians, and are counted of Scandinavian ancestry.

According to estimates, there were 52,000 people of Danish descent in Brazil. The Brazilian regions with Danish descendants are Rio de Janeiro, Natal, Curitiba, São Paulo, and Cear.
