People of Swiss ancestry form an important group in several countries in North and South America. As per the estimates, the total population of Swiss ancestry is 1 million around the world, and forms an important minority Group in the United States, Canada, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina.

Population wise California (96,070) has the largest number of people with Swiss Ancestry followed by Pennsylvania (70,703), Ohio (68,400), Wisconsin (53,391), and Indiana (39,518).

Percentage-wise top US states with Swiss Ancestry are Utah  (1.15%), Wisconsin (0.92%), Idaho (0.70%), Oregon (0.66%), and Indiana (0.59%).

Swiss Canadians are Canadians who have full or partial Swiss ancestry. Swiss  Canadians account for about  0.45%  of the total population of Canada

According to the Canadian Census 2020, there were 155,120 people of Swiss descent in Canada.

Swiss Ancestry Provinces

Ontario, with 59,835 people of Swiss ancestry, has the largest population of Swiss -Canadians in Canada followed by British Columbia (31,390) and Quebec (24,505). Percentage-wise Yukon (1.24%) have the highest percentage of Swiss followed by  British Columbia  (0.69%) and Alberta (0.61%).
