Portuguese Canadians
Portuguese Canadians are Canadians who have full or partial Portuguese ancestry. People of Portuguese origin form an important group in several countries in North and South America.
Portuguese Canadians account for about 1.23% of the total population of Canada. According to the Canadian Census 2021, there were 448,305 people of Portuguese descent in Canada. Saskatchewan is the province with the highest percentage of Portuguese population in Canada.

Alberta with 154,535 people of Portuguese ancestry, has the largest population of Portuguese -Canadians in Canada followed by British Columbia (137,175) and Saskatchewan (70,215). Percentage-wise Saskatchewan (6.36%) has the highest percentage of Portuguese followed by Alberta (3.70%) and British Columbia (2.79%).

Toronto Metro area with 180,820 people of Portuguese ancestry, has the largest population of Portuguese Canadians. It’s followed by Montreal (51,580) and Vancouver (22,980).
