Austrian Ancestry in America

People of Austrian ancestry form an important group in several countries in North and South America. As per the estimates, the total population of the Austrian diaspora is 1.5 million around the world.

According to the 2020 US Census, Austrian ancestry is estimated at 0.7 million people. It also forms an important minority Group in Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, and Argentina.

Austrian Canadians are Canadians who have full or partial Austrian ancestry. Austrian Canadians account for about 0.60%  of the total population of Canada.

According to the Canadian Census 2020, there were 207,050 people of Austrian descent in Canada.
