Arab Canadians
Arab Canadians are people who self-identify as Arabic of Arab World origin; this includes immigrants from the region of the Levant, which includes Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan, although overwhelmingly from Lebanon. The remainder is made up of those from Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, Libya, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and other Arab nations.
Arab Canadians account for about 1.91% of the total population of Canada. According to the Canadian Census 2021, there were 694,020 people of Arab descent in Canada. Quebec is the province with the highest percentage of Arab population in Canada.

Arab Population by Nation of Origin
Statistics Canada asks people to self-identify themselves for origin or race or nation of Origin. In Census 2021, 263,710 persons defined themselves as simply Arab and other by Nation of Origin.
The largest subgroup is by far the Lebanese Canadians with 210,605 responses, followed by; Egyptian Canadians with 105,245, Moroccan Americans with 99,980, Syrian Americans with 98,250, Algerian Americans with 73,770, Iraqi Americans with 59,300, and Palestinian Americans with 45,905.

Arab population in Canadian Provinces
Ontario, with 284,215 people of Arab ancestry, has the largest population of Arab Canadians in Canada followed by British Columbia (Quebec) and Alberta (69,510).
Percentage-wise British Columbia (3.37%) has the highest percentage of Arabs followed by Ontario (2.03%) and Alberta (1.66%).

Top Canadian metropolitan areas by Arab population
The Montreal Metro area with 246,150 people of Arab ancestry, has the largest population of Arab Canadians. It’s followed by Toronto (129,310) and Ottawa – Gatineau (69,205).
