Lebanese Population in United States
Lebanese Americans are those having origins in any of the original peoples of Lebanon and the Lebanese Ancestry. As per estimates, 0.5 – 1 million people of Lebanese origin reside in the United States. Lebanese are the largest population of Middle Eastern origin living in the United States. They are included in the Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) population in the US Census count and thus counted as White.
Most Lebanese immigrants during the first and the early part of the second waves were Christians. Muslims followed in large numbers beginning in the late 1960s. Among the minority, there are Shia and Sunni Muslim communities. A number of Jews fled Lebanon for the United States due to fears of persecution, and populations of Druze and atheists also exist. There are more Lebanese outside Lebanon today than within.
As per the US Census 2020, the population of Lebanese Americans in 2020 was 508,210 or 0.5 million.

Lebanese Population by US State
Lebanese immigrants have been settling in the U.S. since the late 19th century, making them the largest subgroup of Arabic-speaking immigrants in America. According to the U.S. Census Bureau*, approximately one-fourth of persons reporting Arab ancestry were Lebanese.
As per the US Census 2020, the top five states where Lebanese Americans reside are Michigan (12.14%), California (12%), Florida (7.57%), Texas (6.76%), and New York (6.7%).

The Lebanese population was notable in various metro areas across the United States. Detroit metro area has the largest Lebanese community with 62,911 individuals, followed by the Los Angeles metro area (31,634) and New York (28,893)
