North African Population in United States
North African Americans are people who have originated from the region of Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia. North African Americans are the sub-group of White people as The U.S. Census Bureau. The US Census defines “White” people to be those “having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.
As per US Census 2020, an estimated 0.5 million of North African origin resided in the United States.

North Africans in the United States include Moroccan, Algerian, Tunisian, and Libyan immigrants to the United States. The largest such communities live in New Jersey, New York, California, Washington, D.C., and Texas.
In California, most North Africans live around Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. In Texas, the communities are mainly in Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Egyptian Americans are Americans of partial or full Egyptian ancestry. Egyptian Americans may also include the Egyptian foreign-born population in the United States. As per US Census 2020, the Egyptian American population in 2o20 is 278,554 and they are the largest Group of North Africans in the United and the third largest group among Arab Americans. Most Egyptian Americans are from Egypt’s Christian Coptic minority.
Egyptians are concentrated in New York City and Los Angeles. California has the largest Egyptian population by state followed by New Jersey and New York.
