Serbian Ancestry in America
Serbian Americans are Americans who have full or partial Serb ethnic ancestry. People of Serbian ancestry form an important group in several countries in North and South America. As per 2008 estimates, the Serbian diaspora numbered 4 million and It was estimated that 1-1.2 million in North America, and 20,000 in Central and South America. In the United States census of 2020, 0.5 million people identified as being fully or partly of Serbian ancestry.
Serbian American Population
According to the United States Ancestry Census estimates for 2020, there were 190,625 (0.06% of the U.S. population) people of Serbian descent in the U.S. However, the number may be significantly higher, as there were some 236,624 (0.07%) additional people who identified as Yugoslavian living in the United States.

Chicago Metro area with 43,998 people of Serbian ancestry, has the largest population of Serbian Americans. It’s followed by New York (21,414) and the Detroit metro area (13,366).
