Florida is a state located in the Southeastern United States & borders the Gulf of Mexico to the west, Alabama to the northwest, Georgia to the north, the Bahamas and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and the Straits of Florida and Cuba to the south.

Population Projections
The population will surpass 26 million in 2030, driven by immigration from both Northern US states and other countries. Much of the population increase is due to net migration, not only from overseas but from within the US itself. Two-thirds of residents were born in another state and it also has the highest population of Hispanic residents in the United States.

Christianity is the majority religion in Florida followed by 70% of the population. Next comes the Unaffiliated population, 17% of the population doesn’t follow or adhere to any faith or religion. Other non-Christian-based religions and faiths are followed by 6% of the population.
Jews are the second largest religion in Florida, followed by 3% of the state population. Other faiths include Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, and Islam, and together make up 3% of Florida’s population.

Race and Ethnicity
In 2020, the White/Anglo (Non-Hispanic) population was the largest racial or ethnic group in California, comprising 51.45% of the total population. It followed the Hispanic or Latino population, whose share at 26.45% in 2020. The Black or African American population was the third-largest group at 14.52%. Two or more races combined are at 3.68% & Asian was at 2.92%.

The largest city in Florida by population is Jacksonville, with over 900,000 individuals in the area. The largest county by population is Miami-Dade County, with well over 2 million individuals residing within the county lines.
