Luxembourg, officially the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is a landlocked country in Western Europe. Belgium borders it to the west and north, Germany to the east, and France to the south.  According to Statistiques Luxembourg,  As of January 1, 2023, 660,809 inhabitants reside in Luxembourg. The population of the Grand Duchy increased by 15,412 people in 2022. This increase in the population is mainly due to migration, particularly the massive influx of Ukrainian immigrants (4,268).

Religion in Luxembourg

Christianity is the majority religion in Luxembourg and is followed by 61% of the population. Catholicism is the main Christian denomination having 54% of the population as its adherents. Next comes Protestantism  (3%), and Eastern Orthodoxy  (1%). 

Non-Christian-based faiths account for 10%, and the remaining 30% are classified as unaffiliated, which can mean agnostic, atheist, or “nothing in particular.” Islam is the second-largest religion in Luxembourg and is followed by 3% of the population. Other smaller faiths include Judaism and other smaller faiths.
