Taiwanese Americans are those having origins in any of the original peoples of Taiwan (officially Republic of China) and Taiwanese Ancestry.  Approximately 310,503 people (0.09% of all respondents) identified as Taiwanese in the 2020 US Census. It’s the 11th-largest group among Asians in the United States.  California has the largest Taiwanese American population in North America and the city of Los Angels holds the densest Taiwanese American population in the 48 contiguous states.

As per the United States Census Bureau 2020, the Taiwanese alone population is 257,430 (0.08%), and the Taiwanese alone or in any combination population is 310,503 (0.09%). The Estimated population of Taiwanese in the United States as of 2024 is 0.4 million.
