Argentina Population by Provinces
Argentina is a federal republic consisting of 23 provinces and one autonomous city (Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), which serves as the federal capital. Each province and the capital have their own constitutions under a federal system.
The population is concentrated in a few provinces, while others have vast areas with relatively small populations. Understanding the provincial population distribution is key for demographic, economic, and urban planning purposes.

Argentina Provinces by Population (2022 Census)
Buenos Aires Province is the most populous, excluding the population of the autonomous city of Buenos Aires. It includes the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area, but not the city proper.
Next comes Córdoba, with about 4 million inhabitants. Almost 41% live in Córdoba city and its surroundings, making it Argentina’s second-largest metro area. Santa Fe ranks third with 3.5 million people.

Argentina Provinces by Area and Density
Argentina’s provinces vary greatly in size and population density. Buenos Aires Province is the largest by population and area, while Santa Cruz, Chubut, and Río Negro are also very large but sparsely populated.
The Autonomous City of Buenos Aires has the highest population density, followed by Tucumán.
