Tamaulipas (Spanish: Estado Libre y Soberano de Tamaulipas), is one of the state and 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. Located in northeastern Mexico, it is bordered by the states of Veracruz to the southeast, San Luis Potosí to the southwest, Nuevo León to the west and US state of Texas to the north.

Tamaulipas is fourteenth most populated state in Mexico and the 6th largest by area. As per the Censo de Población y Vivienda 2020, the population of Tamaulipas in 2020 is 3,527,735 (3.53 million)
