Georgia continues to grow at greater than 1% per year, which makes it one of the faster-growing states in the country (12th). According to a projection released in 2010 by the state of Georgia, the population was expected to reach 14.7 million by 2030.
Religion and affilations
Christianity is the majority religion in Georgia followed by 79% of the population. The largest Christian denomination in Georgia is Protestant (67%) followed by Roman Catholics (9%). Next comes the Unaffiliated population, 18% of the population doesn’t follow or adhere to any faith or religion.
Other non-Christian-based religions and faiths are followed by 3% of the population and include Hinduism, Buddhism, Jews, Islam, and other smaller faiths.
