Ethnic Origin in Manitoba

Manitoba the fifth-largest Canadian Province by population has a racially and ethnically diverse population. Ethnic origin refers to the ethnic or cultural origins of the respondent’s ancestors. About 250 ethnic origins were reported in Manitoba 2021 Census. The Ethnic Origin most often reported is English followed by Scottish and German.

European origins (59.7%) of the population are the most common Origin. Aboriginals are in higher percentage as compared to other provinces are 18.1% of Manitoba’s Population. First Nations, Metis, and Inuit are major Aboriginal people.

Visible minorities and Aboriginals in Manitoba

The population of Manitoba has experienced a significant increase in visible minorities due to the recent surge in migration. According to the 2021 Census, 22.2% of Manitoba’s population is comprised of visible minorities.
