Isle of Man Population 2024

The Isle of Man also known as Mann, is an island nation and self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom is responsible for the island’s military defense. 

According to the 2021 Census report, the population of the Isle of Man in 2021 is 84,069 (84 thousand). 41,658 residents were born on the Isle of Man and a further 32,153 in the United Kingdom, accounting for 49.6% and 38.3% of the resident population respectively. Compared with 2016, the percentage of residents born in the United Kingdom has fallen by 1.7%, while that of those born in the Isle of Man is largely the same

A total of 4,728 residents hold nationality from a country in the European Union. The net inward migration rate over the five year period is approximately 1,600.

Religion and Ethnicity

Ethnicity

Residents from ethnic groups other than white account for 5.3% of the resident population, an increase of 1.7% since 2011. Of this, the biggest increase relative to the whole population is seen in those of Asian ethnicity, although the number of residents of black ethnicity has more than doubled in absolute terms.

Religion

The 2021 Isle of Man Census is the first Manx census to ask about the religious beliefs of the population of the Island. Of the 74,487 residents who answered the census question regarding religious affiliation or belief, 54.7% reported that they were Christian. A large number of respondents, accounting for 38.8% of the resident population, report having no religious beliefs.
