Sonora (Spanish: Estado Libre y  Soberano de Sonora) is one of the 32 Federal Entities of Mexico. Its located in North western Mexico and is bordered by the states of Chihuahua to the east, Baja California to the northwest, Sinaloa to the south and US state of Arizona to the North.

Sonora is 18th most populated state in Mexico & the 2nd largest by area. As per the Censo de Población y Vivienda 2020, the population of Sonora in 2020 is 2,944,840 (2.94 million)
