In 2020, the White alone (non-Hispanic) population was the largest racial or ethnic group in Wyoming, comprising 81.42% of the total population. It was followed by the Hispanic or Latino population whose share was 10.24%.

Two or more races were the third-largest group at 4.10%. The American Indian population is at 2.04% & Asians at 0.87%

Demography Trends

While alone (Non-Hispanics) in Wyoming

Non-Hispanic Whites account for nearly 81.42% of Wyoming’s population. German, English, and Irish Americans have made up three of the largest European ancestry groups in Wyoming. As per the Census report, German Americans made up 21.9% of the population and number 126,802 members. English Americans made up 12.5% of the population and number 72,384

Irish Americans made up 11.2% of the population and number 64,772 followed by Norwegian ancestry at 4.4 % of the population and number 25,485.

Hispanics and Latinos in Wyoming

Hispanics and Latinos are the second-largest groups in Wyoming. Around 10.24% of Wyoming’s Population claims Hispanic or Latin American ethnicity.  

Multi-Race in Wyoming

Multiracial individuals are also a visible minority in Wyoming. People identifying as multiracial form 4.10% of the population, and number around 23,674 people. 

Native Americans in Wyoming
