Japanese Canadians
Japanese Canadians are Canadians who have full or partial Japanese ancestry. People of Japanese ancestry form an important group in several countries in North and South America.
Japanese Canadians account for about 0.36% of the total population of Canada. According to the Canadian Census 2021, there were 129,425 people of Japanese descent in Canada.

British Columbia with 54,635 people of Japanese ancestry, has the largest population of Japanese Canadians in Canada followed by Ontario (42,250) and Alberta (18,605).
Percentage-wise British Columbia (1.11%) has the highest percentage of Japanese followed by Alberta (0.45%) and Ontario (0.30%).

Vancouver Metro area with 38,945 people of Japanese ancestry, has the largest population of Japanese Canadians. It’s followed by Toronto (27,255) and Calgary (8,540).
